Ayana Bass is a doctoral student in Educational Studies at Boston University, with a concentration in Special Education. As a certified RI Elementary Special Educator and Brown University Alumni (M.A. Urban Ed. Policy ‘22), she centers education policy, equity, teacher diversity, foundational literacy initiatives, and recruitment and retention of the teacher workforce. Ayana is affiliated with the UMass Amherst Center for Education Policy and is an adjunct professor in the Special Education Dept. at her alma mater, RI College. As a lifelong learner, she looks forward to continuing to examine and participate in research and learning aligned with her passions in the field of education and her joy for intellectual curiosity.
