NC Teaching Fellows Director

Dr. Arine N. Lowery serves as the Director of the NC Teaching Fellows Scholarship and as an adjunct for the Department of History at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.
Her educational history includes earning a Bachelor of Elementary Education/ Minor-History from North Carolina Central University. She then went on to earn a Master of Arts in Online Instructional Education from North Carolina Central University, and she earned a certificate in School of Administration from Garner- Webb University. Dr. Arine earned a Ph. D in Teacher Education and Learning Science with a concentration in Social Studies Education from North Carolina State University.
Areas of research: K-12 classroom discussion; K-12 Teaching about political dissent; and Critical Race Theory & Social Studies Education. Her hobbies and or special skills: Supporting students with edTPA, reading, shopping, spending time with family, and traveling.
