Dr. Lisa Barron is Interim Dean and Professor of the Eriksson College of Education at Austin Peay State University. Before joining Austin Peay, she earned national board certification and has worked in an elementary school as a teacher, assistant principal, and curriculum coach.
Dr. Barron led the work to establish the nation's first federally registered teacher apprenticeship. Her latest published book, Rethinking School-University Partnership: A New Way Forward, was co-edited with Dr. Prentice Chandler and highlights partnership and Grow Your Own models nationwide. She is the 2022 recipient of the Richard M. Hawkins Award, an Austin Peay award for noteworthy achievement in scholarship.
