Gail Richmond is Professor, Associate Chairperson and Director of Teacher Preparation Programs at Michigan State University. Her research is centered on teaching for social justice, understanding the needs and supports necessary for classroom educators in under-resourced schools, and supporting the learning of children in such schools. She has served as co-editor of the Journal of Teacher Education and of the Journal of Research in Science Teaching, and as President of NARST. Her work has been published in both researcher and practitioner journals and has been supported by both government (e.g., NSF, U.S. Dept of Education, IES) and private (e.g., Kellogg, Woodrow Wilson Foundations) agencies and foundations.
