Stephania Lenzi is the Director of Professional Education Services at Arizona State University's Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College. In this role, she connects undergraduate and graduate students in teacher certification programs to learning and career opportunities through district partnerships. She collaborates closely with the Division of Teacher Preparation Leadership, program faculty, and the Next Education Workforce team to develop and maintain relationships with school districts, establishing expanded placement opportunities for students in both traditional and job-embedded formats.
Stephania's career spans extensive experience in education, demonstrating her commitment to the success of diverse student populations. She has managed and supervised various educational operations, including professional learning for Arizona's Language Development Approach, English Language Development training, and outreach services for migrant, homeless, and foster care students. Her work ensures compliance with state and federal regulations and supports LEA accountability for meeting federal mandates related to ESSA.
Previously, as Deputy Associate Superintendent of the Unique Populations Unit at the Arizona Department of Education, she provided supervision and management of unit operations, including professional learning and compliance monitoring for programs supporting English learners, migrant students, and other unique populations. She also held the position of Director of Professional Learning at the Office of English Language Acquisition Services, where she developed and implemented professional learning plans and systems to train stakeholders on Arizona’s ELP Standards and SEI Models.
Stephania's background also includes roles such as Academic Coach at Morris K. Udall Middle School, where she conducted classroom observations, developed curriculum maps, and facilitated professional development for teachers. She has been an educator at South Pointe High School and the Alhambra Elementary School District, where she taught English Language Learners and was actively involved in curriculum development and professional development presentations.
Stephania holds a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction (English as a Second Language) and a Bachelor of Arts in Education (Secondary Education) from the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College, Arizona State University. Additionally, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Arizona State University. She also studied abroad in Valparaiso, Chile, enhancing her language and cultural understanding.
Throughout her career, Stephania has been recognized for her effective performance and leadership. Her skills in evaluation of student data, program implementation, and professional development have consistently contributed to the improvement of educational practices and student outcomes.
