Dr. Rachel Nelson is currently serving as the Assistant Director of Teacher Outreach at Appalachian State, facilitating self-directed learning opportunities for over 125 teachers across western North Carolina employing the teacher directed professional learning model. Dr. Nelson has co-authored articles about micro-credentialing in STEM education, teachers’ experiences with SDL, and culturally responsive teaching.
