National Center for Teacher Residencies
Jill Harvieux Pitner is NCTR’s Chief Growth Officer. She joined NCTR in 2011. In her role, Jill works with State Education Agencies, School Districts, Colleges of Education, Educator Preparation Providers, and Non-profits to determine how the teacher residency model can help each institution meet their goals to address teacher diversity, shortages, quality, and retention. Before joining NCTR, she co-developed the Denver Teacher Residency (DTR), a partnership between Denver Public Schools and The University of Denver Morgridge College of Education, to prepare teachers to meet the needs of Denver Public Schools P-12 students. Jill draws upon her more than 20 years of experience as a non-profit leader, consultant, faculty member, staff developer, teacher leader, researcher, curriculum writer, and classroom teacher to improve outcomes for students who have been underserved by the education system.
