Dr. DeSander earned a JD from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, MI, and a PhD. in Educational Policy, Planning, and Leadership from the College of William and Mary. She currently serves as the Director of the School of Leadership and Professional Studies at Western Kentucky University. In her role, she has collaborated with state, district and cooperative partners redesigning principal preparation. Her research foci include school law, designing effective principal preparation programs and educational policy.
