Mr. Akers serves as a Professional in Residence in the College of Education and Behavioral Studies at Western Kentucky University. He earned his bachelor’s in Secondary English Education from the University of Kentucky, a masters in School Counseling from Eastern Kentucky University, and a Rank I in School Leadership from Eastern Kentucky University. Rob served 18 years in school administration including 13 years as head principal at Woodford County High School in Kentucky. Following his time in school administration, Rob was appointed to the role of the first Associate Commissioner of Education for the Office of Educator Licensure and Effectiveness at the Kentucky Department of Education which oversees educator preparation and certification for the state of Kentucky.
