Dr. Abbie Strunc is the department chair for the School of Teaching and Learning and Associate Professor in the College of Education. She holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum Studies from the University of North Texas and a masters degree from Texas A&M University. She is a 2021 recipient of the Texas A&M System’s Chancellors Teacher Academy. Her research interests include curriculum, educational policy, discourse analysis, Critical Discourse Analysis, teacher preparation, and the teacher pipeline. Dr. Strunc also serves on the Tx Association of Teacher Educators board as the President. She is also the Managing Editor for the TxEP journal. She is an active member of several professional organizations, such as ATE and AACTE, and serves as legislative advocate for the Texas CASA: Court Appointed Special Advocates. Dr. Strunc is the Co-PI on several external funding organization grants.
