Dr. Canidra L. McGuire is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership at the University of Memphis. Prior to working in higher education, Dr. McGuire served in various school roles including teacher, teacher coach, principal, principal coach and supervisor as well as Chief of Operations in traditional and charter school districts in Tennessee and Mississippi. In addition, she supported a partnership grant to build teacher pipelines in districts across the state of Tennessee as a West TN Regional Manager for the TN Grow Your Own Center. Dr. McGuire provides support and coaching to aspiring teacher and leaders, school districts, and educational partners. Her research interests include organizational leadership, instructional leadership, and principal effectiveness needed for teacher trust and retention. Dr. McGuire has presented best educational and leadership practices regionally and nationally. She earned her EdD in Educational Leadership from the University of Memphis.
