Executive Officer
Fresno Unified School District
Dr. Kimberly Villescaz earned a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Southern California. After graduating from USC, she worked as an engineer in Los Angeles, California. While working as an engineer, she developed a passion for education while volunteering at the local school district, where she tutored students in math. This newfound love for educating children caused her to pursue a career in teaching. Dr. Villescaz began her career as a Math Teacher in the Central Valley and later moved to Fresno Unified School District (FUSD), where she taught mathematics, served as an Instructional Coach, and Vice Principal with a strong emphasis on mathematics. Her leadership journey continued after being promoted to her first principalship at Wawona Middle School. Going into her third year as principal of Wawona, she launched a Dual Language Immersion Spanish Program, transitioning Wawona from a traditional middle school to a K-8 school. She served as Wawona's principal for seven years before being promoted to Executive Officer of Leadership Development for FUSD. Dr. Villescaz went on to further her education by achieving her Educational Doctorate Degree from San Diego State University in 2023. In addition to her executive role, Dr. Villescaz is an Instructor for the San Diego State University's Aspiring Leaders Program and Doctoral Program, helping support and develop equity-centered leaders.
