Danné E. Davis, Ph.D., is a teacher scholar at Montclair State University. From K6 to higher education, she remains committed to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging via the arts. These topics inform her many publications, presentations, and professional talks. Danné’s current research involves increasing elementary teacher candidates' awareness of and responsiveness to LGBTQ+ diversity. She is a recipient of numerous awards including NAME’s G. Pritchy Smith Multicultural Educator of the Year and MSU Faculty/Staff LGBTQ Ally of the Year. Beyond the classroom, Danné finds joy volunteering, crafting and cooking and spending time with older adults including her nonagenarian mother,
