Viviana Alexandrowicz, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Learning and Teaching and the Executive Director of USD's Changemaking Center for K-12 Education. Her areas of expertise and scholarship focus on pedagogy for 21st-century skills development, theory and methodology for teaching multilingual learners, and artificial intelligence (AI) in education. She has presented at over 70 conferences in the US and worldwide. Professor Alexandrowicz has been involved in community service learning and engagement for over 20 years, mentoring faculty and guiding students in service. She serves on the Board of Directors of Doors of Change, an organization that serves homeless youth. Dr. Alexandrowicz is a Global Change Leader for Ashoka U, leading the transformation of teacher preparation programs at USD into Changemaker teacher education. Her publications include the books "Theory and Practice and International Models of Changemaker Education: Programs, Methods, and Design" and "Family, School, Community Engagement, and Partnerships”. She is currently completing a journal article on AI in teacher education.
