Pervis Evans, MS, MEd - Dean of the Public Service Division at Midland College
Pervis Evans has devoted over 20 years of his professional career in numerous roles in the education and social services sectors including K-12, higher education, state agency, and nonprofit. As a community college dean, he has overseen departments of education, child development, communication, humanities, social and behavioral sciences, visual and performing arts, mathematics, criminal justice, paralegal studies, cosmetology, fire technology, and emergency medical services. Dean Evans was instrumental in leading the development of an Honors Program, a Bachelor of Applied Sciences degree in Early Childhood Education, a state-wide model for equity in child welfare, and a regional collective impact strategy for quality education.
Mr. Evans serves on the Board of Trustees and as Chair for Quality Improvement for Midland Memorial Hospital and was selected as a 2022 Fellow with Deans for Impact, a national network dedicated to improving educator preparation. He earned a Master of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas Tech University and a Master of Education degree in Counselor Education from Sul Ross State University. Pervis enjoys acting, singing, traveling and spending time with his wife and two children. Pervis has utilized each role and platform given to amplify the voice of hope and to make an impact in his community and abroad.
