As a Texas certified bilingual education teacher and a citizen of a Frontera, Anaeva Rodriguez has experienced firsthand the expectations, joys, and hardships that come with belonging to a bilingual, bicultural community. Her experiences as a Spanish speaking student amongst her English speaking peers ignited her passion to become a teacher who would advocate for her students and value their culture, background, and linguistic practices. Anaeva Received a bachelor of Bilingual Education with a minor in physics as well as her Masters in Bilingual Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Texas at El Paso.
Ms. Rodriguez has extensive experience working in a variety of educational settings and as a teacher in various parts of the border city of El Paso. From working with minority demographics, to training teachers for gifted and talented certification, Ms. Rodriguez has worn many hats throughout her educational career. Anaeva worked as a teacher facilitator before joining the University of Texas at El Paso supporting novice teachers in the teacher preparation program and teaches bilingual education courses for undergraduate students. She is currently pursuing an EdD in Educational Policy and Assessment at the University of Texas at El Paso researching teacher pipeline policies for the advancement and preparation of teachers serving minority populations.
