Maria Earman Stetter has been the Associate Dean of the College of Education and Social Work at West Chester University for over three years. Her associate deanship focuses on student services such as dispositions, clinical placements, and student issues as well as curriculum, assessment, and accreditation. She enjoys collaborating with students, faculty, and staff across the university and WCU’s increased focus on diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice. Before that, at Roosevelt University in Chicago, IL., she was an Associate Professor of Special Education and Department Chair of Teacher Education. Dr. Stetter enjoyed supporting her colleagues as Department Chair and working with many external partners including Chicago Public Schools’ Teacher Residency Program, CAEP, the Illinois Impact Network, and the Illinois State Board of Education. Her foundational experience was 12 years teaching in the Chicago Public Schools system as a Special Education Teacher of adolescents with Learning Disabilities and Emotional Disturbance.
