Dr. Olya Clark is an Assistant Professor in Health Promotion. Prior to coming to Springfield College, for 20 years, she taught courses in public health and education at Keene State College, Marlboro College Graduate school and the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Dr. Clark's academic background includes a BA/MA degree in History and English from Petrozavodsk State University (Russia). She also holds a Master’s of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with the focus in social justice from Keene State College and a Ph.D. in Public Health (Major: Community Health Education; Minor: Political Economy of Health) from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Dr. Clark's research areas are in gerontology and elderly health issues as well as social justice, health inequities and health promotion. She has extensive national and international teaching, research, and other professional experiences in the fields of education and public health in Russia, India, and the United States.
