Dr. Stacey Edmonson is Dean of the College of Education at Sam Houston State University. In addition to 10 years as Dean, throughout her 33 years in Texas education she has served the College of Education as department chair, doctoral director, and professor of Educational Leadership at Sam Houston State University as well as a teacher, principal, and central office administrator in Texas public schools. She currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors for the American Association of Teacher Education (AACTE) . She also chairs the Higher Education Committee for the Texas Association of School Administrators and was selected to serve on the State Board of Education’s Long-Range Plan Steering Committee for Texas. She has served as President of the Teacher Education Council for State Colleges and Universities (TECSCU), President of the Texas Association of Colleges of Teacher Education (TACTE), and site team chair for the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). She earned a BA in English from Texas A&M University and MEd and EdD in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University-Commerce. Stacey has published six books and 91 peer-reviewed articles on topics including trust, stress and burnout among educators, legal issues in education, and educator ethics; she has also served as principal investigator on more than $13.5 million in competitive external grant funding.
