(She/her/hers) Dr. Kristen White is an Assistant Professor of Education at Northern Michigan University. She holds a Ph.D. from Michigan State University in Curriculum and Instruction and a Language and Literacy Specialization. With more than 25 years of experience in education, she has taught grades K-8, worked as a K-5 media specialist, and provided professional development for a national reading institute. Dr. White's research focuses on preparing teacher candidates in rural contexts to use an antiracist approach for culturally relevant instruction. She serves on the Edward Fry Book Award Committee for the Literacy Research Association and is a reviewer for several literacy education journals.
