Maria Peterson-Ahmad, Ph.D. is the Associate Dean of Research and Innovation with a research concentration in teacher preparation/effectiveness, particularly for general and special education teachers of students with high incidence disabilities. Additional research interests include technology to support teacher preparation and high leverage practices. Dr. Peterson-Ahmad serves as the Secretary for the Council for Learning Disabilities and is a member of their Executive Committee and Board of Trustees. She served as the co-chair for the Council for Exceptional Children Advanced Standards Revision Workgroup and has collaborated with the CEEDAR Center to develop materials on high leverage practices.
