Introduction to the 2RISE Research Team
The 2RISE Research Team is supported by the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF). This government agency aims to promote national academic and scientific research capabilities by efficiently and fairly conducting academic and research development activities, as well as nurturing and utilizing related personnel. With their support, our team conducts a decade-long study on risk education in science education.
Our team includes science education experts, science education policy makers, educational administration experts, school teachers, and graduate students from universities in Korea and Singapore that train elementary and secondary school teachers.
The 2RISE Project researches the role of science education in responding to risks (RISK) in the VUCA era. "VUCA" stands for Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity, describing a time where these factors are maximized. The 2RISE (Risk Response in Science Education) Project aims to reconsider the role of science education in fostering individual capacities to respond to risks in the VUCA era and to establish a risk response education system.
